Catholic Academy of Waterbury, located on Robinwood Rd. in Waterbury, is a brand new school. It is a STREAM model and a heritage school of Blessed Sacrament School & St. Mary School. It is sponsored by two parishes, The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church and Blessed Sacrament Church. We are a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Hartford that will create an environment where all students can believe, learn and excel in every aspect of their young lives. We offer a safe, secure and nurturing environment that provides a world of life-long learning to students in their search for knowledge, meaning, and truth.

We are an educational community of families inspired and supported by the traditions and values of the Catholic Church and guided by the belief that all are created in the image and likeness of God. We welcome students of all faiths, ethnic groups, and socio-economic backgrounds.

 

Catholic Academy History

Catholic Academy of Waterbury officially opened its doors on July 1, 2018. On August 27, 2018, we will welcome more than 300 students in grades Pre-K through 8th grade into their new school! Catholic Academy of Waterbury is a school within the Archdiocese of Hartford, but is led locally by its Pastors, Rev. James Sullivan, Pastor of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church, and Rev. William Agyemang, Administrator of Blessed Sacrament Church, and Principal, Mrs. Christa Chodkowski.

Catholic Academy of Waterbury is a heritage school of Blessed Sacrament School and St. Mary School. After years of uncertainty at both schools due to infrastructure and financial concerns at St. Mary School and a decreasing enrollment at Blessed Sacrament School, the decision was made to officially close the doors of both schools. The closure of these schools, though, paved the way for Catholic Academy of Waterbury, which is located on Robinwood Rd. on the old Blessed Sacrament School campus. The traditions and culture of both schools will live on at Catholic Academy of Waterbury for many years to come!
